  • Providing legal advice and representation to clients on a wide range of labour and employment law issues.

  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and agreements.

  • Must be proficient in day-to-day legal advisory, review of employee on-boarding / exit processes, contracts, statutory policies as well as comprehensive employment law audits and due diligences (both stand alone and as part of M&A transactions)

  • Must have prior experience in advising clients on structuring internal processes (such as salary structures, leave policy, etc.) as per Indian employment laws, while remaining aligned with global / group policy framework.

  • Must have prior experience and knowledge in handling industrial relations issues including negotiating settlement agreements, advising on processes, legal compliances and drafting documentation related to transfer of employees pursuant to business / asset transfers/ acquisitions, conducting employment due diligence, advising on internal restructurings or ongoing company management  relating to domestic enquiry procedures

  • Representing clients in labour disputes, including arbitrations and litigation.

  • Conducting legal research and staying up to date with developments in labour and employment law.

Job Description:

  • Conducting title diligence by way of analysis of title documents and drafting title due diligence reports

  • Rendering legal opinions, structuring complex real estate transactions, and mitigating land related issues through legal advice and intervention

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, finalizing and procuring registration of transaction documents relating to, inter alia, sale, lease, gift, exchange, license, will, trust, joint development etc.;

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

Business Planning

  • Understand the Firm’s strategic plan and ensure that the Firm’s business development objectives support the overall plan.

  • Assist in the development and execution of annual business plans for each practice group of the Firm.

  • Track business development activities carried out by the Firm and its members.

  • Track trends and developments in Firm management and new practices.

  • Track competitor information.

  • Collaborate with external consultants and service providers (if any) on marketing approach, maximise business opportunities.

  • Collaborate with partners to promote their respective practices, identify client opportunities and develop cross-practice service lines.

  • Track all BD expenditures.

Client Development

  • Proactively work with partners to target and develop clients in line with the Firm’s annual business plan and overall vision.

  • Assist partners with client opportunities e.g. (background research, preparation of questionnaires, note taking/participation in visits with partners, etc.) and track these opportunities.

  • Assist the Firm in development and execution of its International Referrals (IR) program, identify opportunities for collaboration with international firms and clients and develop marketing materials to support the IR program.

  • Develop materials that can be used to consistently communicate with clients and prospective clients on Firm related news, events and business development initiatives.

Credentials

REQUIREMENTS

Essential Criteria:

  • LL.B and/or MBA. Candidates with both qualifications will be prioritised.

  • At least 10 years of marketing/business development experience within a professional services environment. Prior experience in similar roles in Tier I law firms will be prioritised.
