Description

We bring to you the Union Budget edition of the nota bene.

The Hon’ble Finance Minister tabled the Union Budget for the year 2026-27 on 1st February 2026. The Union Budget 2026-27 reflects a plausible promise—an India that is steadily preparing to engage with the world on stronger footing. By moving beyond conventional growth levers and focusing on regulatory ease, tax rationalization, foreign investment, MSMEs, and emerging sectors, the Budget proposals signal preparedness over headline-driven intent. It strikes a pragmatic balance between ambition and execution, positioning India as more open, confident, and globally aligned.

Key macro highlights that stood out:

Development of Dedicated Freight Corridors, National Waterways, and High-Speed Rail growth connectors

Creation of City Economic Regions (CERs) to convert urban clusters into economic engines

Biopharma SHAKTI, ISM 2.0, Rare Earth Corridors, and Chemical Parks to deepen manufacturing capacity

₹10,000 crore SME Growth Fund to create Champion MSMEs

Focus on energy security, critical minerals, and clean technologies

New Income Tax framework and ease of doing business reforms

Strong thrust on skilling, services economy, and regional inclusion

Thus, this Budget reflects a calibrated blend of ambition and pragmatism - expanding India’s growth narrative beyond conventional sectors while steadily refining the legal and regulatory architecture to attract global capital.

Hope you find this edition insightful.
