The Practice

AQUILAW’s Dispute Resolution practice represents domestic and international clients in complex, high-stakes and business-critical disputes across courts, tribunals, arbitral institutions and regulatory forums in India. Our disputes team combines strong courtroom capability with commercial judgment, helping clients assess risk early, formulate effective strategy and pursue outcomes that protect both immediate interests and long-term business objectives.

With lawyers across Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad, we are equipped to manage disputes seamlessly across jurisdictions, from pre-litigation strategy and interim relief to trials, appellate proceedings and enforcement. Our team regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts across the country, commercial courts, district courts, the National Company Law Tribunal and National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, consumer fora, regulatory and sectoral tribunals and other specialised judicial and quasi-judicial bodies.

Commercial and Corporate Litigation – Representation in contractual disputes, shareholder and promoter disputes, joint venture conflicts, breach of commercial arrangements, recovery proceedings, indemnity claims and other complex business disputes.

White-Collar Crime and Criminal Litigation – Advising and representing corporations, promoters, directors and senior management in investigations, prosecutions and proceedings involving allegations of fraud, cheating, criminal breach of trust, corruption, money laundering, economic offences and other business-related criminal matters from trial up to the appellate courts.
Real Estate and Construction Disputes – Advising developers, investors, contractors, landowners and other stakeholders in title disputes, development and construction disputes, RERA proceedings, possession and ownership claims, leasing disputes and infrastructure-related claims.
Employment and Workplace Disputes – Representation in senior management disputes, employee separations, disciplinary proceedings, confidentiality and non-compete disputes, workplace investigations and labour and employment-related litigation.
Consumer and Product Liability Litigation – Representation of manufacturers, service providers, technology companies and consumer-facing businesses before consumer commissions and other forums in product liability, warranty, deficiency of service and unfair trade practice claims.
Constitutional and Public Law Litigation – Advising and representing corporates, institutions and individuals in writ proceedings involving governmental action, regulatory decisions, tender disputes, public law remedies and challenges to administrative or statutory action.
